Electrical panel upgrades and replacements in Knoxville, TN

If your panel is full, rusted, or still a fuse box, everything you add to the house is working around a limit.

An electrical panel is the one part of a house that quietly decides what else is possible. Adding a hot tub, a heat pump, a shop, or an EV charger usually runs into it first.

We do electrical panel upgrades and replacements across Knox County and the counties around it. That includes pulling the permit and coordinating the utility disconnect, so you are not the one making those calls.

What a panel upgrade usually costs

A straight panel swap, same size, same location, typically runs $1,800 to $2,800.

A service upgrade to 200 amp, including a new meter base and mast, typically runs $2,800 to $4,500.

Cost moves with the meter location, the mast height, and whether the utility needs to change the drop. We measure before we quote.

Estimates are free. Service calls carry a diagnostic fee.

Scope

Signs your panel needs work

  • Fuses instead of breakers
  • A panel that is completely full, with no open slots
  • Breakers that trip under normal load
  • Rust, moisture staining, or a burnt smell at the panel
  • A Federal Pacific, Zinsco, or Challenger panel
  • Double tapped breakers, meaning two wires on one breaker
  • Plans for an EV charger, hot tub, generator, or addition

How it works

What happens after you call

  1. We look at the panel and the meter

Ten minutes on site tells us whether this is a swap or a full service upgrade.

  2. We pull the permit and schedule the utility

Power comes down, the panel goes in, power comes back the same day in most cases.

  3. Inspection and a labeled directory

We label every circuit properly. You should be able to read your own panel.
